How We Help

Printers, copiers, and every device your team relies on—actually managed.

"The printer won't work" is one of the most common calls any IT team gets, and it's rarely as simple as it sounds. We track supplies before they run out, keep drivers and print servers in sync when hardware changes, and manage entire device fleets—laptops, tablets, Chromebooks—for organizations that issue them to staff or students.

The problem

A dead printer doesn't feel urgent—until nobody can invoice, print a chart, or turn in an assignment.

Print and device tickets are some of the most frequent requests our team sees, day in and day out: a queue that's jammed, toner that ran out mid-job, a driver that broke after a Windows update, a new copier that needs to be added to every workstation on the floor. None of it is dramatic. All of it stops someone's work cold until it's fixed.

It gets more complicated at scale. A school issuing Chromebooks or tablets to every student, or a company handing laptops to every new hire, is managing dozens or hundreds of devices that all need to be enrolled, kept current, and tracked. Without someone actively managing that fleet, small issues—a missed update, a lost device, a expired enrollment—pile up fast and become everyone's problem at once.

How Emerald handles it

Fixed fast, tracked proactively, managed at scale.

Same-day print fixes

Most printer issues are software, not hardware, and those get resolved remotely—a driver reinstall, a cleared queue, a fixed permission—so your team is back to printing without waiting on a truck roll.

Proactive toner & supply tracking

We monitor supply levels remotely and order replacements before a printer runs dry, instead of finding out the hard way in the middle of a print run.

Fleet management for issued devices

Laptops, tablets, and Chromebooks issued to staff or students get enrolled, imaged, and tracked centrally, so the whole fleet stays current—not just the devices someone happens to remember.

“Thank you for hopping on my computer and showing me how to fix the issue. I am hoping that this will help me with future printing issues.” — Staff member, private school client
Common questions

Print & device management FAQ.

How quickly can a down printer be back up and running?

Most printer problems aren't hardware failures—they're a stuck print queue, an expired driver, or a permissions issue, and those get fixed remotely, usually the same day the ticket comes in. If it turns out to be an actual hardware failure, we get a technician scheduled and keep you posted on timing rather than leaving you guessing.

Do you manage school-issued devices like Chromebooks and tablets across a whole fleet?

Yes. We manage device fleets end to end—enrollment, imaging, app and policy deployment, and ongoing tracking—whether that's a few dozen staff laptops or a full 1:1 student device program. It's one of the most common things we handle for school clients specifically.

What happens to drivers and the print server when a printer gets replaced or a new one is added?

We handle it on the back end—installing the right drivers across every device that needs to print to it, updating the print server, and testing the queue before anyone tries to use it. The goal is that staff or students never notice the swap happened.

Tired of the printer being everyone's problem?

We'll take supply tracking, driver headaches, and device fleets off your plate.
